Internship – Personnel, Administration and Logistics (PAL)
Open to nationals of NATO member states only.
Duty location: Paris (Neuilly-sur-Seine), France.
Duty start: 01 July 2026.
Closing date: 29 May 2026.
Organization Overview
The NATO Science & Technology Organization (STO) is a NATO subsidiary body that supports the North Atlantic Council. The Collaboration Support Office (CSO) is one of its executive bodies and provides executive and administrative support to the STEM activities carried out through the eight Scientific and Technical Committees. The Personnel, Administration and Logistics (PAL) Branch safeguards the collaborative environment that enables the S&T Collaborative Program of Work.
Responsibilities
- Update the CSO welcome booklet, newcomers’ induction documents and other HR documents.
- Participate in creating process handbooks for the PAL Branch.
- Propose improvements on follow‑up tools for recruitment, contract management, payroll, performance, training and other employee life‑cycle matters.
- Contribute to data processing for annual personal information checks and statistical analysis/metrics.
- Suggest improvements on Change Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Cohesion, Well‑being, Health and Safety matters.
- Electronic and paper archiving: scanning, recording and cleaning of the local archiving room and local drive/SharePoint (general documents and personal files).
- Perform other related functions as directed by the Branch Head (PAL) and Principal Assistants (PAL).
Qualifications
Essential
- Professional experience in Human Resources.
- At least two years of university education in an applicable area, or equivalent training.
- Ability to use common office software suites, such as Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint.
- Proficient knowledge of one NATO official language (SLP: 4343) and a fair knowledge of the other (SLP: 2222). The work is mainly conducted in English.
Desirable
- Prior experience in an international organization.
- Prior experience in a multinational environment.
- Advanced training in the use of office software suites.
- Human Resources qualifications.
- Very good knowledge of both NATO official languages, with a particular focus on English.

Security Clearance Level
Must be eligible for a NATO Secret security clearance.
Working Environment
Normal office work environment.
Employment Terms and Conditions
Internship of six months. Upon successful completion, a follow‑up contract of six months may be offered, up to one year in total.
Basic monthly salary: € (subject to taxation).
Annual leave: 30 days (prorated as necessary).
Work accident insurance provided. Other insurance is contracted individually and paid by the post holder.
