Join the FIA and contribute to the operational excellence of international travel documentation services. As International Travel Documents Claims Specialist, you will play a key role in managing insurance and customs claims linked to the Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD), an international customs document allowing the temporary import of vehicles without paying duties or taxes.

Working within the Mobility Division, in the Tourism Services Department, you will act as a central point of contact between FIA member clubs, insurers, customs administrations, underwriters, and internal stakeholders. The role will initially focus on supporting the resolution of existing customs claims, while contributing to the long-term development and reliability of FIA travel document services.

Missions and responsibilities:

Insurance & Customs Claims

  • Manage customs and insurance claims related to CPD documents, from analysis and coordination through to resolution and formal closure.
  • Liaise with insurers, underwriters, FIA member clubs, and customs authorities to verify claim validity and support effective resolution.
  • Support the reduction of outstanding or uncleared customs claims, helping to protect the financial sustainability of the CPD network for member clubs.
  • Prepare claims reports and management summaries for the Head of Tourism Services and senior stakeholders.

Customs & Travel Document Expertise

  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of international customs documentation frameworks, including CPD, ATA Carnet, TIR Carnet, and related conventions.
  • Provide guidance to FIA member clubs and internal stakeholders on customs formalities, border‑crossing regulations, and vehicle documentation requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on FIA travel document programmes.
  • Support dispute resolution in cases of customs non‑compliance, coordinating with customs authorities and legal counsel where required.

Member Club Relations & Operational Support

  • Act as a trusted operational contact for FIA member clubs on CPD, IDP, customs, and insurance‑related matters.
  • Maintain regular contact with clubs to understand operational challenges and provide practical solutions.
  • Support CPD operations when needed, including order processing, documentation follow‑up, invoicing coordination, and training activities.
  • Work in a small and lean team environment, with a hands‑on and collaborative mindset.

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and strategic development of FIA Tourism Services.
  • Provide operational and regulatory input to support the evolution of FIA travel document services and member support.
  • Carry out additional assignments within the scope of the role as directed by the Head of Tourism Services.

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law, international trade, insurance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in international insurance claims, customs bonds, transport, or international trade insurance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims handling, with the ability to analyse complex claims files and challenge invalid claims when appropriate.
  • Knowledge of international customs regulations and travel documentation frameworks is an asset; specific CPD training will be provided.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Resilient and diplomatic, with the ability to manage demanding stakeholders across cultures and jurisdictions.
  • Arabic and English, written and spoken, are mandatory; French or another language is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with claims management or document tracking systems is an asset.
