International Technical Sales Manager – Cosmetic Ingredients

Our client, an international specialty chemicals company is seeking an experienced International Technical Sales Manager to accelerate the development of its business within the global cosmetics industry.

This strategic role combines advanced technical expertise with high-level international business development, targeting leading cosmetic manufacturers and formulators worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and expand business with major international cosmetic manufacturers, brand owners, and formulators.
• Promote innovative specialty chemical solutions and provide high-level technical support to customers.
• Identify new business opportunities across global markets and build long-term strategic relationships.
• Lead complex technical and commercial negotiations from opportunity identification through contract signature.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, regulatory, and technical service teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Understand market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies within the cosmetics industry.
• Represent the company at international trade fairs, conferences, and customer meetings.

Candidate Profile

• Technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Formulation Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Significant international technical sales experience within the cosmetics, personal care, or specialty chemicals industry.
• Strong understanding of cosmetic formulations, specialty ingredients, and application technologies.
• Demonstrated success managing key international accounts and developing new business.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously in an international environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively worldwide.
• Fluent English is essential. Additional languages are a strong advantage.

Ideal Background

Experience gained with manufacturers or suppliers of cosmetic ingredients, specialty chemicals, surfactants, polymers, active ingredients, emulsifiers, rheology modifiers, or formulation technologies would be highly valued. Candidates with experience working with global companies such as L'Oréal, Estée Lauder, Beiersdorf, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, BASF, Croda, Evonik, Ashland, Clariant, Solvay, Givaudan Active Beauty, or Lubrizol are particularly encouraged to apply.
