Backed by over $18 million from top-tier global venture capital investors and prominent tech founders (from companies like Revolut, Stripe, and Checkout), this company’s mission is to boost GDP in emerging economies by making global trade payment flows fairer and more accessible. With a highly ambitious team of approximately 100 people across 10 countries, they specialize in helping cross-border importers seamlessly pay international suppliers.

Your missions if you accept them

Reporting to the Growth & Expansion leadership team, you will drive the company's entry into brand-new geographic markets from end to end. You will be responsible for everything from initial feasibility validation to processing the very first live customer transactions.

  • Identify and Validate New Opportunities: Spend extended periods on the ground with local businesses to deeply understand market demand, urgency, and willingness to pay.
  • Map Local Ecosystems: Build a comprehensive understanding of how target markets function, including local regulations, existing payment flows, and primary business friction points.
  • Engage Financial Partners: Survey the banking, foreign exchange (FX), and local fintech landscape to initiate strategic partnership discussions.
  • Test Critical Assumptions: Quickly validate hypotheses to distinguish between what will accelerate a launch and what could completely block it.
  • Deliver Strategic Recommendations: Provide data-driven launch recommendations to internal leadership, grounded in customer insights, regulatory feasibility, risk analysis, and commercial upside.
  • Execute Real-World Launches: Negotiate and secure robust on-the-ground partnerships with local banks, FX providers, acquisition partners, and initial anchor customers.
  • Build and Stabilize Operations: Set up and test end-to-end flows (onboarding, liquidity movement, edge-case troubleshooting), launch the first live transactions, establish initial pricing, and structure early local support (contractors, first hires, and potential General Manager candidates) before handoff.

Exigences

  • Experience: You have 6+ years of experience in top-tier management consulting, operations, business development, expansion, or startup launch roles.
  • Emerging Markets Footprint: You possess concrete, hands-on professional experience working within or launching products in emerging markets.
  • Mobility & Adaptability: You are genuinely excited to live in-market for long stretches (up to several months at a time) during launch phases and thrive in unfamiliar, ambiguous environments.
  • Commercial & Analytical Rigor: You have proven commercial acumen (partnership negotiations, enterprise sales, or fundraising) combined with strong structured thinking—comfortable building quantitative models and making decisions with imperfect data.
  • Leadership & Communication: You have experience managing contractors, consultants, or small agile teams, and possess exceptional communication skills to build trust with both internal executives and external institutional partners.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the import-export sector, cross-border payments, or international trade finance is highly advantageous.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Additional fluency in Arabic, Portuguese, French, or other regional languages is a major asset for targeted market expansions.
