Instrumentation Design & Engineering for Nuclear Power Plants

• Design and specify field instrumentation for nuclear plants, including:
  • Pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
  • Radiation monitoring systems
  • Process analyzers and sensors

• Prepare Instrument index, datasheets, Loop diagrams, hook‑up drawings, Cable schedules, I/O lists
• Classify instruments based on nuclear safety categories (Class A, B, C)
• Ensure design compliance with fail‑safe and redundancy requirements
• Support development of instrumentation architecture aligned with safety systems
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable nuclear codes such as:
  • IEC 61513 – General requirements for nuclear I&C systems
  • IEC 61226 – Classification of I&C systems (Safety Classes A, B, C)
  • IEC 60780 – Qualification of electrical equipment for nuclear safety systems
  • IEC 61508 – Functional safety lifecycle (SIL framework)
  • IEC 61511 – Safety instrumented systems (process industry)
  • WENRA reference levels for safety expectations
  • Nuclear regularity & compliance requirement.
