Description Of Role
The Senior Installation Analysis Engineer within Pipeline Group is in charge of the installation analysis process, from the engineering phase on project to the monitoring of offshore operations.

He/she is responsible for delivering installation analyses on projects or calls for tenders with particular attention paid to the adequacy of the solution implemented, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment while ensuring compliance with costs.

He/she may be in charge of supervising a team of project engineers in installation analyses on project, FEED or call for tenders on a daily basis.

He/she reports to the analysis team leader.

On project or call for tenders, he/she may be supervised by a Principal Installation Analysis Engineer and/or a project engineering manager to whom he/she regularly reports on the progress of the analyses, critical technical subjects and staffing needs.

Activities & Key Responsibilities

  • Independently carries out feasibility studies and installation analyses for various cases of installation of rigid pipelines at sea (pipeline, riser, structures, etc.) in S-Lay or Reel Lay, taking into account the risks associated with this type of operation.
  • Ensures that safety rules are well considered in the analyses at all stages of installation operations, and that they are in accordance with the codes of the profession.
  • Ensures the quality of the analyses delivered in accordance with the Client's specifications and compliance with the schedule.
  • May supervise a team of project engineers in installation analyses, providing technical guidance on subjects and ensuring the adequacy of proposed solutions.
  • Interface with the associated disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project team.
  • Participates in the decision on the installation method (S-Lay, J-Lay, Reel-Lay, etc.).
  • Supports operations during installation, both in the office and occasionally at sea.
  • Respects safety objectives and regulations on site, and promotes safety culture within the team from the project phase to the operational phase at sea.
  • Actively participates in the life of the department, in the training of engineers and in the development of knowledge.
  • Proposes innovative solutions to reduce risks and costs.

KEY SKILLS

  • Knowledge of finite element theory – Mandatory
  • Good knowledge of beam theory and material physics

  • Knowledge of Python and VBA programming – Recommended
  • Knowledge of Orcaflex software – Mandatory
  • Knowledge of Abaqus software – Added value
  • Offshore experience in pipe laying
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
