Overview
We participate in our customers' innovative development applications across industries, including industrial gases production and marketing in France. The role focuses on leading Secondary Production operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of products to customers within a defined scope (site/region/country).
Responsibilities
- Accountable for production and product delivery to the customer within a defined scope (site/region/country).
- Lead and manage teams covering activities in Secondary Production (operations technicians, maintenance, product compliance, etc.).
- Provide technical support to the production department to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Oversee the commissioning and start-up of new equipment.
- Carry out risk analyses and report on various tests in accordance with internal procedures.
- Monitor and adjust critical variables in distillation and purification processes to ensure product purity and minimise losses; design and draft specifications for new installations or modifications to existing ones.
- Coordinate departments to ensure industrialisation and validation of new products on site.
- Manage the various product transfilling facilities.
- Develop, interpret and update P&ID diagrams and PFDs.
- Draft and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Draft detailed functional analyses describing the operational logic of the equipment to enable automation teams to configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Maintain a dynamic on-site presence to monitor plant performance, diagnose faults, identify process deviations, and provide immediate technical support.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between Production and Maintenance to understand operational constraints, plan shutdowns, and improve equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with HSE to participate in risk analyses (e.g., HAZOP and FMEA), ensure process safety compliance, and manage plant modifications (MOC).
- Work with Quality to reduce non-conformities, participate in root cause analyses, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with Projects and Development teams on launches of new products, equipment purchases, or plant expansions, ensuring smooth transfer of process data from project mode to production mode (commissioning and start-up).
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Level: Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Work Experience: More than 3 years in related fields.
- Strong fundamentals in distillation processes.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics networks, estimating pressure drops, and selecting/sizing pumps, control valves, and piping.
