Job Description English and French descriptions available below: Strategic Opportunity Identification & Cross‑functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, and Industrialization teams and other stakeholders to proactively identify and evaluate high‑impact opportunities for robotic and automated solutions. Translate complex operational needs into clear, actionable, and innovative automation concepts, with a strong focus on both product design and manufacturing processes, especially considering the challenges of high variant, low quantity production.
Design for Robotics & Automation (DfRA) Leadership
Lead the development, implementation, and promotion of DfRA guidelines and best practices. Act as a primary coach and subject matter expert for R&D teams, guiding them on optimizing product architectures, component designs, and assembly methods to maximize automation potential and manufacturability from the earliest design stages.
Feasibility Studies & Technical Expertise
Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies for our product portfolio to analyze the potentials/risks for robotic and automated manufacturing processes. Provide design adaptation proposals to the R&D teams with your deep technical expertise for DfRA, leveraging your knowledge of actual technological capabilities for Robotics & Automation (R&A).
New Product Introduction (NPI) Assessments for DfRA
Integrate DfRA assessments directly into the NPI process. Evaluate new product designs for their suitability for robotic manufacturing and assembly, identifying potential challenges and recommending design changes to enhance automation efficiency and adaptability for flexible manufacturing.
AI for Robotic Programming & Optimization
Explore and facilitate the implementation of advanced AI techniques (e.g., computer vision, machine learning) together with our AI teams for tasks such as robotic path planning, automated quality inspection, and adaptive process control, especially those that enhance flexibility and efficiency in high variant environments.
Technical Excellence & Best Practices
Contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, functional specifications, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives for DfRA.
