Manufacturing Engineer – Casting & Forging
Responsible for defining material and casting specifications, ensuring quality and cost‑effectiveness for large cooling water pumps used in nuclear and fossil power plants.
Responsibilities
- Write supplier specifications.
- Support the Quality department with written Inspection Test Plans.
- Provide material and casting expertise to design and project engineering teams.
- Select materials compliant with product specifications and cost targets.
- Participate in quality team supplier audits, define improvement action plans.
- Develop international standard equivalents for specifications.
- Validate supplier documentation.
- Resolve issues and NCRs by providing solutions.
- Participate in R&D actions on material & welding cost‑efficient solutions.
- Assist tender teams during the offer phase to analyze and validate client requests.
- Maintain customer satisfaction and on‑time delivery.
Responsabilités (Français)
- Définir nos requis techniques conformément aux normes en vigueur afin de répondre à nos exigences qualités internes.
- Rédiger nos spécifications techniques de fabrication.
- Accompagner les Ingénieurs projets pour rédiger la documentation projet (plans, spécifications de fabrication avec requis client…).
- Apporter son expertise en matériaux et procédé d’élaboration en fonderie aux équipes d’Engineering et projet.
- Aider au choix des matériaux adaptés tout en respectant les objectifs de coût.
- Participer aux audits de qualification de nouveaux fournisseurs et définir un plan d’action d’amélioration continue.
- Déterminer les équivalences des normes européennes et internationales.
- Valider la documentation des fournisseurs.
- Traiter les Non coformités en apportant son expertise et faire des propositions de résolution de problèmes.
- Participer au programme R&D avec un objectif de rentabilité dans le choix du matériau et procédé d’élaboration en fonderie.
- Accompagner les équipes Tender pendant la phase d’offre pour analyser et valider la demande du client sur la faisabilité.
- Responsabilités satisfaction client, maintien du respect des délais de livraison.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience as a process engineer for casting equipment, especially steel and stainless steel.
- Knowledge of welding, machining, forging and material selection, including properties and design limits.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Knowledge of international material standards (ISO, EN, API, IEC).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in nuclear projects and nuclear safety culture training.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Technical background in rotating equipment assembly/maintenance.
- Knowledge of pump design and mechanical fundamentals.
- Knowledge of ISO/EN/IEC/API standards applicable to pumps.
Technical Know‑How
- Knowledgeable in using ISO / EN / API / IEC Standards applicable.
- Knowledgeable in using Nuclear Safety Culture, Risk assessment.
- Ability to read, analyse and interpret engineering and manufacturing documents.
- Ability to specify product qualification key steps in order to ensure appropriate control of the manufacturing process of a supplier.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) to all levels within an organization and with suppliers.
- Good knowledge of pump design and mechanical fundamentals.
- Proficiency in ISO / EN / IEC / API standards applicable.
