Scope

Arabelle Solutions center is specialised in engineering, manufacturing and servicing of large cooling water pumps for conventional islands of nuclear power plants, fossil power plants, and other industrial plants. The material and casting Engineer has the responsibility to define the specification to ensure that components are supplied at the right quality level with the appropriate cost effective material to guaranty the pump performances and to answer to the contract requirement.

Main Duties

• Write supplier specification
• Support Quality department in written Inspection Test Plan
• Material and Casting expertise support to design team and project engineering team
• Material selection adequate to product specification and compliant with costs targets
• Participating with the quality team suppliers audits to qualify them and defines improvement actions plan
• Developing international standard equivalence of our specification
• Validate supplier documentation
• Solving issues and NCR by providing thru expertise and solution prescriptions
• Participating in R&D actions: material & welding cost efficient solution, definition

Education

• Master / Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience

• Experience as process engineer for casting equipment in particular in steel and stainless steel material
• Knowledge in welding, in machining, forging
• Knowledge of materials including their selection, properties, design limits and product forms
• Ability to select the right material in accordance with the environmental conditions.
• Knowledge of the international material standards
• Ability to function well in a team environment
• Technical background in rotating equipment assembly / maintenance process
• Experience in Supply chain management
• Knowledge in Nuclear Projects & Nuclear Safety Culture awareness training

Technical Know‑how

• Knowledge in Pump design
• Good mechanical understanding.
• Knowledgeable in using ISO / EN / API / IEC Standards applicable
• Knowledgeable in using Nuclear Safety Culture, Risk assessment
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret engineering and manufacturing documents
• Ability to specify product qualification key steps in order to ensure appropriate control of the manufacturing process of a supplier
• Strong communication (written and verbal) to all levels within an organization and with the suppliers
