Overview
Job Description: Airbus Helicopters is seeking an Electrical installation components and repair engineer (m/f) to join the Laboratory for Materials and Processes (LMP) Department based in Marignane, France. The role supports the development of electrical function integration on helicopters and the growing demand for advanced services, with a focus on specification, qualification, and installation rules for electrical components.
Responsibilities
- Specify and qualify electrical components used for installation of electrical systems on helicopters (e.g., clamps, sheaths, brackets, etc.).
- Define and validate manufacturing methods and installation rules associated with these components.
- Define installation rules in collaboration with other electrical components specialists and the electrical integration team; ensure intrinsic rules apply to each component.
- Support the Design Office and production teams in implementing installation components and ensuring compliance with installation rules on AIRBUS helicopters.
- Define and qualify repair solutions for electrical systems during maintenance operations.
- Contribute to the construction and implementation of technological roadmaps for the domain, ensuring coherence with Airbus Helicopters strategic axes and customer needs.
- Study and qualify components required for installing the electrical system on helicopters (e.g., clamps, sheaths, brackets, etc.).
- Define test campaigns for component qualification, analyze results, and write qualification reports.
- Contribute to defining manufacturing methods and tools.
- Contribute to future electrical architectures needs in collaboration with the integration department and SDR (Systems Development Responsibles).
- Support the Design Office in selecting components for helicopters in development.
- Participate in rationalization and standardization of installation components.
- Support certification of materials and manufacturing processes and manage documentation for component certifications.
- Contribute to securing and optimizing the supply chain of electrical installation components (tendering, securing dual sources, obsolescence management).
- Analyze root causes of in-service incidents and propose solutions.
- Define and apply installation rules for components on the helicopter; assist the Design Office and manufacturing teams in implementing these rules.
- Define and qualify repair solutions for the helicopter’s electrical system during maintenance operations.
Profile / Qualifications
- Technical knowledge in electrical components technologies; testing methods for electrical components and equipment (electrical characterization, aging and environmental tests, mechanical tests).
- Experience with electrical components implementation on vehicles (preferably aerospace, automotive, or railways).
- R&D and industrial engineering experience with a focus on electrical system installation in aircraft or vehicles.
- Experience in maintenance/repair of electrical systems in aircraft or vehicles.
- Knowledge of aerospace qualification processes for electrical components is a plus; knowledge of continued airworthiness processes is a plus.
- Team spirit, reliability, open-mindedness, and ability to lead teams on technical challenges.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners; customer- and results-oriented; well organized.
- Language skills: English and French negotiation level; German is a plus.
