Airbus Helicopters seeks an Electrical Installation Components and Repair Engineer to join the Laboratory for Materials and Processes (LMP) Department in Marignane, France. The role focuses on integrating advanced electrical functions into modern helicopters, in place of mechanical and hydraulic systems, and providing maintenance solutions for electrical systems in service.
Responsibilities
- Specify and qualify electrical components (collars, sheaths, brackets, harnesses, etc.) for helicopter installation.
- Define and validate manufacturing methods and installation rules in collaboration with the electrical integration team.
- Support the Design Office and manufacturing teams to implement installation components and comply with installation rules on aircraft.
- Define and qualify repair solutions to be applied to the helicopter’s electrical system during maintenance operations.
- Contribute to the technological roadmaps, ensuring coherence with Airbus strategic axes and customer needs.
- Develop test campaigns for component qualification, analyze results, and author qualification reports.
- Participate in the rationalization and standardisation of installation components and in securing the supply chain.
- Investigate root causes of in-service incidents and propose corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical component technologies, testing methods (electrical characterisation, ageing, environmental and mechanical tests), and implementation on vehicles, preferably in aerospace, automotive or railways.
- Experience in R&D and industrial engineering with a focus on electrical system installation in aircraft (or other vehicles).
- Experience in maintenance/repair of electrical systems in aircraft (or other vehicles).
- Knowledge of aerospace qualification processes for electrical components and of continued airworthiness procedures is an advantage.
- Team spirit, reliability, open‑mindedness, and ability to federate cross‑functional teams.
- Strong customer‑ and result‑oriented mindset, excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Language skills: English (negotiation), French (negotiation); German a plus.
