The opportunity

Are you ready to lead technical excellence in high-voltage projects? As a Project / Product Engineer, you’ll act as the key technical interface between customers and internal teams—supporting project success, driving innovation, and strengthening customer satisfaction through custom-engineered solutions.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Provide technical guidance to the project execution team.
  • Lead technical initiatives such as control design and product qualification.
  • Act as the technical liaison between engineering teams and customers.
  • Coordinate technical information flow to meet project requirements.
  • Represent the company in customer progress reviews and address technical inquiries.
  • Analyze client requirements and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Conduct engineering analysis including design, calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare technical plans and risk mitigation strategies for project kick‑offs.
  • Review and support technical change proposals and cost estimates.
  • Maintain documentation to support contractual variation claims.
  • Manage technical documents, issues, budgets, and schedules.
  • Oversee third‑party contractors to ensure equipment compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power).
  • 6–10 years of experience in power projects.
  • Solid expertise in control circuit design.
  • Experience with electrical systems, high‑voltage equipment, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Knowledge of protection and control systems preferred.
  • Proven leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience in custom engineering environments.
  • Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, EPlan, etc.).
  • Familiarity with standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, CSA).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Process‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Team‑player with excellent communication skills.
  • Results‑driven and goal‑oriented.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Active membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and ability to sign and affix seal to engineering documents.
  • Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
