The opportunity
Are you ready to lead technical excellence in high-voltage projects? As a Project / Product Engineer, you’ll act as the key technical interface between customers and internal teams—supporting project success, driving innovation, and strengthening customer satisfaction through custom-engineered solutions.
How you’ll make an impact
- Provide technical guidance to the project execution team.
- Lead technical initiatives such as control design and product qualification.
- Act as the technical liaison between engineering teams and customers.
- Coordinate technical information flow to meet project requirements.
- Represent the company in customer progress reviews and address technical inquiries.
- Analyze client requirements and resolve engineering challenges.
- Conduct engineering analysis including design, calculations, and equipment selection.
- Prepare technical plans and risk mitigation strategies for project kick‑offs.
- Review and support technical change proposals and cost estimates.
- Maintain documentation to support contractual variation claims.
- Manage technical documents, issues, budgets, and schedules.
- Oversee third‑party contractors to ensure equipment compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power).
- 6–10 years of experience in power projects.
- Solid expertise in control circuit design.
- Experience with electrical systems, high‑voltage equipment, transformers, and switchgear.
- Knowledge of protection and control systems preferred.
- Proven leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience in custom engineering environments.
- Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, EPlan, etc.).
- Familiarity with standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, CSA).
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Process‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Team‑player with excellent communication skills.
- Results‑driven and goal‑oriented.
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Active membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and ability to sign and affix seal to engineering documents.
- Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
