Information Technology Support Team Lead
Main Mission
Within a laboratory analysis environment, the IT Support Team Lead is the site's technical IT point of reference. They play an operational leadership role within the local helpdesk team, while actively and directly contributing to day-to-day user support activities. Operating in a demanding and regulated scientific context, they understand the critical service continuity challenges related to laboratory instruments, LIMS systems, and environments subject to strict quality standards (ISO, accreditations). They also possess basic software development knowledge enabling them to collaborate with application and development teams.
Responsibilities & Activities
Local Technical Leadership
- Act as the first-level technical IT reference on the laboratory site
- Organize, prioritize, and distribute tickets and tasks within the helpdesk team
- Support and mentor junior technicians in incident resolution
- Monitor performance indicators (SLA, resolution time, user satisfaction)
- Serve as the preferred local contact point for regional or headquarters IT teams
- Participate in team meetings and ensure information is escalated to IT management
- Contribute to the drafting and updating of technical documentation and procedures, particularly in compliance with laboratory quality requirements
User Support & Helpdesk (Direct Operational Contribution)
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for all site users
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network incidents
- Handle routine requests: installation, configuration, and updates of workstations (Windows / macOS)
- Manage peripherals: printers, IP telephony, meeting room equipment
- Handle local IT asset management (inventory, renewal, CMDB)
- Participate in hardware and software deployment projects on site
- Contribute to compliance with IT security policies and the laboratory's regulatory compliance requirements
Laboratory Environment Specificities
- Provide support for laboratory-specific information systems: LIMS, instrument data acquisition software, and quality management systems
- Collaborate with scientific and quality teams to ensure operational continuity of connected instruments (analyzers, automated systems, weighing systems, etc.)
- Understand the constraints related to ISO 17025, ISO 15189, or other applicable accreditation environments
- Participate in internal IT audits and contribute to computer system qualification/validation reviews (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Manage user access and rights in compliance with data traceability and integrity requirements
- Ensure proper management of critical data backups related to analytical activities
Software Development (Basic Knowledge)
- Read, understand, and adapt basic scripts (PowerShell, Batch, Bash) to automate repetitive operational tasks
- Collaborate with development teams by mastering fundamental concepts: Git versioning, test/production environments, and application deployment
- Participate in reporting application bugs and anomalies using appropriate technical terminology, in direct coordination with the local development team
- Have a basic understanding of the application environments in use (web, client-server, REST API)
