Job Description – Network Survey / Hands & Feet Support Engineer

Scope of Work:
1. Site Access & Security Verification
- Register site entry and comply with local access procedures.
- Confirm any escort requirements and site access restrictions.
2. Location Documentation
- Capture GPS coordinates of the site.
- Identify and photograph the main network demarcation point.
- Record the location of the communications/server room.
3. Cable Route Assessment
- Measure and document the distance between the demarcation point and the communications room.
- Record cable routing details and any installation constraints.
4. Network Rack Assessment
- Document rack information including:
- Rack ID
- Rack Height
- Occupied and Available Rack Space (U)
- Installed Device Types
- Verify rack stability and condition.
- Capture clear photographs of racks and equipment.
5. Floor Space & Power Readiness Check
- Measure available floor space.
- Verify power availability and redundancy.
- Check UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and grounding facilities.
- Record WAN and LAN devices present at the site.
- Document ports, interfaces, patch panels, and network connectivity details.
- Capture relevant photographs where required.
7. Compliance & Operational Assessment
- Identify any change freeze periods.
- Verify site compliance standards and access control requirements.
- Confirm delivery and installation capabilities.
- Record local language preferences and any operational risks or constraints.
