Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Industrial Support Engineer to join the AIT department of our In‑Orbit Services Business Unit at the Massy site. The role will be built from scratch, encompassing process design, tooling set‑up and hands‑on field execution. It offers the opportunity to lay the foundations of a robust, traceable and scalable organisation, with potential to evolve into a Team Lead position.
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure availability and traceability of components, consumables and AIT means : Manage receiving, inspection, storage, kitting and provisioning of components, GSE, tooling and consumables for AIT production. Maintain full traceability in ERP (Odoo): serial numbers, status, location, satellite assignment, configuration link. Run periodic inventories and manage material statuses.
- Ensure availability, compliance and operational continuity of AIT infrastructure and means : Operate and maintain the ISO 8 cleanroom, test zones and storage areas. Oversee equipment metrology tracking and calibration, guaranteeing availability, compliance status, maintenance, storage and traceability of GSE, tooling and lifting equipment.
- Coordinate AIT campaign logistics, internal and off‑site : Prepare and secure the physical and documentary availability of components, equipment, GSE and tooling. Coordinate shipments and transport, packaging, documentation, customs and export control requirements where applicable.
- Define stock policy and structure logistics processes : Define stock management policy, consumables, long‑lead components and replenishment thresholds with the Industrialisation & Methods team. Implement logistics processes adapted to ramp‑up and monitor associated KPIs.
- Structure the Industrial Support AIT Pole : Define processes, tools, standards and KPIs for the pole, capture field lessons learned, continuously improve the organisation, and in due course, recruit, manage and develop the Industrial Support AIT team.
Preferred Experience
Education : Engineering degree (Bac+5) or Bac+3/4 with significant experience in industrial logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering or equivalent technical field.
Experience : 5+ years in industrial logistics, industrial support, supply chain or means operation in a demanding industrial environment (space, aerospace, defence, medical). Experience managing controlled infrastructure (cleanroom, ESD zones, metrology) is strongly valued.
Tools Proficiency
- ERP and traceability: Odoo or equivalent, CMMS or ERP maintenance module.
- Logistics and execution: FIFO/FEFO, kitting, transport documentation management, campaign readiness.
- Performance monitoring: Advanced Excel, Power BI or equivalent for logistics KPIs and operational availability.
- Asset management: Tracking of GSE, tooling, calibrated equipment, lifting means.
- Clearances: CACES R484 (overhead crane), CACES R485 (electric pallet truck) appreciated.
Knowledge
- Controlled industrial infrastructure management: ISO 8 cleanroom, ESD zones, environmental monitoring, periodic certifications.
- Metrology principles, calibration, preventive maintenance and equipment certification.
- Rules for storage, handling and transport of sensitive material and flight hardware.
- Material and quality status logic: available, quarantined, non‑conforming, reserved, pending inspection, consumed.
- Space campaign logistics: satellite transport, GSE, specific packaging, associated documentation, customs.
- Export control regulations appreciated, in interface with relevant functions.
Other Qualities
- Field versatility: comfortable performing receiving, warehousing, kitting, preparation and provisioning operations actively.
- Leadership potential: ready to structure and then grow an Industrial Support AIT team as production ramps up.
- Soft skills: autonomy, rigour, reliability in traceability, prioritisation in a build‑from‑scratch environment, clear communication with AIT, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain and Engineering teams, initiative, pragmatism and continuous improvement mindset.
- Fluent in French and English (clear technical communication).
