FIELD SERVICE AUTOMATION TECHNICIANS working in France and ad hoc in neighboring countries.
Purpose of the Role
As a Field Service Automation Technician , you will be responsible for installing, commissioning and troubleshooting automation and electrical systems on Krones machines at our customers' sites, mainly in France, Belgium and Luxembourg .
After an intensive training program on-the-job and in Germany (Krones Academy), during which you will become familiar with Krones automation standards, electrical architectures and PLC environments, you will join a dedicated automation field service team.
What awaits you?
- Commissioning, configuring and troubleshooting automation systems on Krones machines and production lines.
- Performing a wide range of electrical tasks , including: cabling and wiring of machines and panels, working inside electrical cabinets (control panels, MCCs, junction boxes), reading, understanding and applying electrical diagrams and schematics .
- Programming, modifying and diagnosing PLC software , mainly using Siemens S7 / TIA Portal , in line with Krones standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and automation-related faults , ensuring safe and rapid restart of production.
- Participating in Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and, where applicable, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) from an automation and electrical perspective.
- Analysing recurrent automation or electrical issues , contributing to root‑cause analysis and proposing sustainable corrective actions.
- Collaborating with and escalating complex issues to Krones engineering or technical support teams .
- Training customer operators and maintenance teams on automation and electrical aspects of the machines and lines.
- Producing clear and structured service reports , documenting electrical interventions, PLC changes and technical recommendations using Krones tools.
- Acting as the automation and electrical reference on site , explaining problems and solutions in a clear, calm and professional manner.
- Strictly applying and promoting Krones safety, electrical and automation standards during all service activities.
You contribute with
- your certifications as certified electrician or automation technician , ideally with a degree in automation, electrical engineering or mechatronics .
- Several years of experience combining industrial automation and electrical work , preferably in a high-speed industrial environment (food & beverage is a plus).
- Your capability to work independently in electrical cabinets , interpret electrical schematics and perform on‑site wiring and checks.
- Solid experience with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal and industrial control systems.
- Experience in a field service, commissioning or start‑up environment .
- Your fluency in French and your good level of English (required for training in Germany and collaboration with international colleagues).
- Your structured, safe and customer‑oriented way of working, even under time pressure.
- Your autonomy, resilience and team spirit at the same time.
- Flexibility and mobililty: frequent travel, overnight stays during the week (and occasionally weekends) are part of the role .
- Not a 9‑to‑5 job – a hands‑on, technically rich role.
