In-Person Baccalaureate Adjunct Faculty in Environmental Criminology in , us
The Opportunity
Unity Environmental University at Pineland is seeking experienced faculty members to teach Environmental Criminology courses for our in‑person baccalaureate degree programs. Courses are taught on the Pineland Farms campus in New Gloucester, Maine and run for five weeks in eight terms during the year.
Day to Day Responsibilities
This position is responsible for facilitating engagement in 5‑week baccalaureate‑level Environmental Criminology courses, applying social theories to explore criminal issues and activities that pertain to nature, various environmental law enforcement contexts, and applicable federal and state laws. Courses are taught in‑person with an average of 20 students per class. Instructors must meet expectations for timely feedback, classroom engagement, and responsiveness to students.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess a graduate degree in Environmental Criminology or a closely related field of study. Candidates should:
- Have a graduate degree in the appropriate discipline or closely related field.
- Be able to operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Have strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively and appropriately using e‑mail and digital conferencing tools.
- Have a personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of Unity Environmental University.
- Have experience teaching in‑person at the postsecondary level.
- Have experience using Canvas or another learning management system to facilitate learning.
