About the Role
Bishara Law is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Attorney to join our growing team. This is a full-time remote/hybrid position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
In this role, you will manage a diverse caseload involving complex immigration matters, including removal defense, asylum, and Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) cases. You will advocate for clients before immigration courts, family courts, and government agencies, while guiding them through every stage of their case.
Key Responsibilities- Represent clients in Immigration Court (EOIR) , including master calendar and individual hearings
- Prepare and file asylum applications (I-589) and other immigration petitions and applications
- Handle cases involving removal proceedings, bond hearings, and complex defense strategies
- Represent clients in Family Court proceedings for Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) findings , including custody, guardianship, and predicate orders
- Prepare clients for immigration court hearings, USCIS interviews, and ICE interactions
- Draft legal briefs, motions, and memoranda of law in support of client applications and litigation strategies
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies for complex immigration matters
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all deadlines and procedural requirements
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear legal guidance and case updates
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LL.M. from an accredited law school
- Admission to a U.S. state bar (New York admission preferred, but not required)
- Demonstrated experience in immigration law , particularly removal defense, asylum, and SIJ cases
- Experience appearing in Family Court for SIJ-related proceedings strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of immigration court procedures and legal standards
- Excellent legal writing skills, including experience drafting briefs and motions
- Strong research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
