I&C Architect (M/F)
Following the government’s announcements regarding the construction of new EPRs and the emergence of alternative solutions with smaller capacities (SMRs, AMRs), the nuclear sector is entering a new era of growth accompanied by new technological challenges.
The post, based in Avignon with the possibility of spending most of the time in Aix‑en‑Provence, involves the role of I&C Architect to guide the design choices of future systems, taking into account regulatory and standard requirements, production, safety and security considerations, as well as operational and maintenance constraints.
Your Responsibilities
- Defining the control and instrumentation requirements arising from studies of process systems, utilities (fluids, ventilation, electricity) and nuclear safety (FOH, radiation protection, criticality).
- Defining and managing the functional requirements of the systems.
- Participating in the development of technical deliverables for the Process/Safety/Security architectures.
- Co‑designing control and command systems while considering safety requirements and interfaces with Level 2 (HMI) and Level 3 (MES) systems.
- Defining programming standards for Levels 1 and 2 of the systems.
- Preparing for and participating in design reviews.

Profile
- Engineering degree or an equivalent five‑year higher education qualification in control systems and automation.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the nuclear sector, ideally within the fuel cycle, with significant experience in the design of complex systems in demanding industrial environments.
- Knowledge of standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 61513 or other functional safety and systems engineering standards.
- Programming experience in the Siemens TIA Portal environment.
- Organised, thorough, methodical and able to synthesise information effectively.
- Ability to take initiative in proposing solutions and making key decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
- Professional English level.
- Curiosity and interest in new technologies.
