HVDC Commissioning Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HVDC Commissioning Manager to support a major high-voltage electrical infrastructure project in France.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising commissioning and testing activities, with a strong focus on HVDC systems and HV/LV electrical equipment.

This is a highly specialised position requiring proven experience in HVDC commissioning .

Main Responsibilities

• Coordinate commissioning and testing activities on site.
• Follow the testing and commissioning strategy in line with project schedule and contractual requirements.
• Maintain and update the commissioning and testing schedule.
• Coordinate the different stakeholders and technical interfaces during testing phases.
• Monitor the quality and readiness of systems prior to commissioning.
• Manage non-conformities and contribute to lessons learned.
• Organise regular commissioning coordination, briefing and debriefing meetings.
• Monitor open points, interfaces, risks and punch lists.
• Follow key commissioning milestones including HAT, SAT and energisation.
• Prepare commissioning progress reports, KPIs and activity reports.
• Participate occasionally in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with suppliers.
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety and QHSE requirements.

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven HVDC system commissioning experience - mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in LV and HV commissioning operations .
• Strong knowledge of HVDC, HV/MV/LV electrical equipment .
• Knowledge of SCADA and cooling systems .
• Experience coordinating technical and contractual interfaces.
• Strong team coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage supplier interfaces and represent the project's interests.
• Fluent French and English - minimum B2 level .
• Engineering degree or equivalent Bac+4/5 qualification, ideally in Electrical Engineering.
• H2V-B2-BR-BC electrical authorisation required.
• BTP card required.
• Strong field-oriented mindset and ability to work in a demanding commissioning environment.
• Weekly commissioning and progress reports.
• Meeting minutes and action tracking.
• Monthly activity reports.
• Commissioning KPIs and schedule updates.
• Risk, interface and punch-list monitoring.
• System readiness and milestone tracking.
• Final commissioning report and lessons learned
