Humanities Interpretation & Evidence Reviewer

Responsibilities

• Construct field-specific questions with sources, contextual information and an interpretive issue.
• Write a reference response that makes its reasoning and evidentiary basis clear.
• Check whether an argument accurately represents its sources and historical or cultural setting.
• Identify fabricated citations, misread passages and overconfident treatment of unresolved scholarly debates.

Background

A graduate degree in a humanities discipline, or equivalent scholarly or professional experience, is required. Relevant specialties include history, classics, philosophy, ethics, logic, literature, religious studies and cultural studies. You should write clearly enough to distinguish a defensible interpretation from one that merely sounds convincing.

Work within your actual field and explain competing readings when the evidence supports more than one answer. Careful handling of ambiguity is central to this role.

Deliverables and pay

Deliverables are source-grounded questions, reference interpretations, argument reviews and annotated evidence checks. IXO will agree the scope, schedule and review criteria before work begins.

Pay is $50

$65/hr in USD. Work is remote.
