HR Operations Specialist - France (Permanent)

Location: Arras or Paris Area, France

Working Model: Hybrid (typically 1-2 days per week in the office, with flexibility

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist to join a dynamic HR Shared Services team supporting multiple entities across France. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality HR operational support across the employee lifecycle, payroll input coordination, case management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with HR, payroll, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate administration, exceptional employee support, and compliance with French employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Employee Support & HR Service Delivery

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries relating to HR policies, benefits, payroll, contracts, and procedures.
  • Manage and resolve HR cases through ticketing systems, email, phone, and chat channels.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
  • Leverage HR technologies and AI‑enabled tools to improve service delivery and efficiency.

Employee Lifecycle Administration

  • Manage end‑to‑end employee lifecycle processes, including:
  • Contract amendments and updates
  • Job and compensation changes
  • Offboarding and terminations
  • Benefits administration
  • Leave and absence management
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks.
  • Ensure all activities comply with French employment legislation and company policies.

Payroll Coordination

  • Prepare and validate payroll inputs for employees in France.
  • Partner with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, corrections, and retroactive adjustments where required.
  • Ensure payroll data quality and integrity at all times.

Process Improvement & HR Operations Excellence

  • Manage HR service requests and case queues to agreed service levels.
  • Support SLA and KPI monitoring and reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of standard operating procedures and HR operational best practices.

About You Essential Experience

  • Fluent French (C1 level or above) and strong English communication skills.
  • Previous experience within HR Shared Services supporting a French employee population.
  • Strong knowledge of French HR processes, employment legislation, and payroll fundamentals.
  • Experience managing employee lifecycle administration and HR case management.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with ADP payroll solutions.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar HR case management systems.
  • Exposure to AI‑enabled HR tools and workflow automation.
  • Experience supporting multiple legal entities or operating within an international matrix organisation.
