HSE Site Manager

Position: HSE Site Manager

Location: Bastia, Corsica, France

Start: April 2026 (ASAP)

Duration: Until the end of June, with possibility of extension

For our client, we are searching for an experienced HSE Site Manager to join a major HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) construction project in Bastia, Corsica. The role is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards on site, while promoting a strong and proactive safety culture across all project activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and continuously improve the site HSE management system
• Ensure full compliance with French HSE regulations and company standards
• Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks
• Deliver HSE training, inductions, and awareness initiatives for site personnel
• Monitor incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, ensuring proper reporting and corrective actions
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and regulatory bodies on all HSE-related matters
• Provide HSE support to daily operations, with a strong focus on risks associated with HDD activities

Requirements

• Proven experience in HSE roles within construction and/or infrastructure projects
• Experience working on international projects
• Strong knowledge of French HSE regulations
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
• French language skills are an advantage
• Experience with asbestos-related projects is a strong plus
• Ability to work independently and manage complex site environments
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
