HR Manager - France
We are looking for an HR Manager to establish and drive our HR function in France.
You will join our French office of 25 colleagues and play a key role in building a strong local HR setup. Until now, HR has been part of our Southern Europe structure using a local lever, and this new role will become our dedicated HR presence in France.

Your role
You will report to the Country Manager in France with a matrix reference to the Global Head of HR in Denmark. You will also be part of an international HR team of 10 colleagues, with 8 located at HQ in Denmark and HR managers based in Poland and Germany. You will collaborate with Finance Director and Office Manager/HR Admin.
The role offers broad responsibility and strong support from HQ.
Strategic HR Leadership & Workforce Planning
- Define the annual HR strategy aligned with the business plan (target headcount, payroll costs, priority skills) and guidelines from the HQ in Hobro (DK).
- Build and manage workforce planning (headcount, internal mobility, apprentices, interns, temporary staff).
- Develop and monitor the HR budget (payroll, social charges, training, benefits, external advisors, tools).
- Implement skills mapping and succession planning for key positions.
- Deploy performance management and reviews, formalize Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and monitor Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Full end-to-end ownership of the recruitment value chain
- Lead and drive all recruitments in France, ensuring timely hires that support business growth and organizational build-up.
- Act as a trusted advisor to local management on talent needs, hiring priorities, and succession planning.
- Ensure a high-quality and structured recruitment process that strengthens employer branding and candidate experience.
Employer Branding & Internal Communication (Beyond Recruitment)
- Define the HR editorial calendar (newsletters, onboarding kits, QWL/QVCT campaigns).
- Initiate company rituals (welcome coffees, all‑hands meetings, recognition initiatives).
- Manage local CSE (if applicable).
- Manage employer reviews (Glassdoor/Welcome), including response guidelines.
- Be proactive to empower the brand in France; partnerships with engineering schools, participate in exhibition, try to meet other HR in the energy field.
In collaboration with local Office Manager/ HR Administrator
- Governance & Documentation: Ensure compliance, quality, and continuous updating of HR policies and documentation with the support of HR Administrator.
- Ensure 100% compliance with local legal requirements.
- Oversee payroll administration in compliance with existing employment contracts.
Your profile
- You have a minimum of 7 years of experience from a similar HR role, preferably in an international or standalone setup.
- You thrive in a broad role where you handle the full HR value chain – from operational tasks to strategic HR partnering.
- You are comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with local management and an international HR team.
- You take ownership, work in a structured way and translate business needs into pragmatic HR solutions.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
