As the HR Business Partner Manager for France, you will serve as a strategic bridge between the Group’s global HR strategy and the distinct operational realities of the French market. You will provide comprehensive, end-to-end HR solutions to our retail network and corporate functions. Your mission is to drive organizational effectiveness, foster critical talent development, and uphold our brand’s cultural legacy through people-centric initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Strategy & Organizational Development
- Partner with French business leadership to translate commercial objectives into forward-looking HR strategies and workforce plans.
- Conduct organizational diagnostics and design agile structures tailored to the distinct needs of both boutique operations and manufacturing ateliers.
- Lead the local adaptation and compliance rollout of Group-wide HR policies (performance management, compensation & benefits) within the French legal and cultural framework.
2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment for key positions, including Boutique Managers, Sales Advisors, Supply Chain experts, and HQ functional roles.
- Enhance the candidate experience, ensuring that talent profiles align with the brand’s refined image, while optimizing cost-per-hire and time-to-fill metrics.
3. Talent Development & Performance Management
- Lead the annual talent review, succession planning, and high-potential identification processes, with a particular focus on regional retail managers and technical workshop leaders.
- Drive the full performance management cycle, empowering people managers to set clear objectives, provide ongoing feedback, and execute performance improvement plans.
4. Employee Relations & Employer Branding
- Serve as the senior subject matter expert on employee relations, handling complex casework, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures in full compliance with the French Labor Code and works council (CSE) protocols.
- Conduct regular boutique and workshop visits to stay connected with frontline realities, identifying actionable retention strategies and experience-enhancement measures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in an HRBP or Senior HR Generalist capacity.
- Proven background in the Retail, Luxury sectors is mandatory.
Core Competencies & Skills
- French Labor Law Expertise: Deep, current knowledge of the French Labor Code, collective bargaining agreements and works council (CSE) consultation processes.
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate business challenges into strategic HR interventions, with a strong understanding of P&L and commercial drivers.
- Influencing & Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders, balancing employee advocacy with business pragmatism.
Language & Interpersonal Skills
- Fluent in French and Chinese (both written and spoken) – mandatory. English is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of empathy, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
- Agile, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-cultural environment.
