Sefas operations in France will be relocated to a site near Gare de Lyon. This position will require on‑site presence three days per week.
Position Overview
Reporting to the EVP, Human Resources, the Bilingual HR Business Partner will be a key contributor within the Human Resources team at Sefas. This hybrid position blends responsibilities typically associated with a Human Resources Manager and an HR Generalist, providing hands‑on support across all core HR functions.
The ideal candidate will bring both tactical expertise and strategic awareness, applying sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a problem‑solving mindset. This role supports employees in France, with responsibilities spanning HRIS management, policy administration, compliance, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, immigration, employee relations, day‑to‑day HR operations, facilities and office management.
Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Serve as trusted advisor to leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, employee relations, and performance management.
- Anticipate risk and provide practical, business‑aligned HR guidance.
- Support leadership through change initiatives, restructurings, and organizational evolution.
Employee Relations & Core HR Operations
- Act as primary point of contact for employee and manager HR matters across all regions.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance cycles, engagement initiatives, and policy administration.
- Ensure full compliance with French labour laws, supported by a strong understanding of legal frameworks.
- Maintain HR documentation, audits, and employment verifications.
Works Council (CSE) Leadership – France
- Lead all information and consultation obligations (recurring and ad hoc).
- Prepare and maintain BDESE documentation.
- Manage CSE meeting governance, agendas, minutes, and procedural compliance.
- Support collective bargaining and annual negotiations (NAO).
- Oversee CSE elections and manage protected employee processes.
- Mitigate labor risk and maintain constructive union and employee representative relationships.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to the French Labour Code.
- Manage disciplinary processes, including protected employee protocols.
- Support health, safety, and workplace well‑being obligations.
Total Rewards & HR Systems
- Partner with brokers and vendors on renewals and plan management.
- Own HRIS (BambooHR) data integrity, reporting, and process optimization.
Talent & Growth
- Support recruitment, workforce planning, and talent development initiatives.
- Contribute to programs that enhance engagement, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
Immigration & Global Mobility
- Coordinate work permits and immigration processes with external counsel.
- Track compliance timelines and mitigate risk.
Facilities (France)
- Support office logistics for the France location.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in an HR Manager or HR Business Partner role, Bac+5 level with a specialization in labour law or human resources.
- Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).
- Strong expertise in CSE governance and employee representative relations.
- In‑depth knowledge of French labour law and regulatory frameworks, with demonstrated ability to ensure compliance. Knowledge of the Syntec collective agreement is an asset.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (BambooHR preferred).
- Strong business acumen, with proven negotiation skills and the ability to anticipate and mitigate risk.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on within a lean HR environment.
