High-Power Laser Designer

I am partnered with a French deep-tech innovator advancing heterogeneous integrated photonics to enable next-generation AI data centers and high-performance computing infrastructure.

We are looking for a High Power Laser Designer who is experienced with High Power Semiconductor Laser Design, who will join the CTO led R&D department, where you will be responsible for the design, development, modelling and optimization of high power lasers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Analyse the tests performed by the test team, recommend, develop new tests.
• Design and develop heterogeneous high‑power DFB laser sources, interacting with colleagues and with key partners.
• Optimize laser performance: power, stability, noise, thermal behaviour, yield, reliability.
• Use optical simulation tools to model optical components and thermal behaviour.
• Conduct tolerance analysis and predict performance in various conditions.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience designing high‑power semiconductor DFB lasers on InP.
