Heavy Civil Bridge Superintendent

Location: Ohio

A respected heavy civil contractor in Ohio is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Bridge Superintendent to lead DOT bridge construction projects. This role is responsible for managing all on‑site operations while ensuring full compliance with Ohio DOT specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of DOT bridge construction, including concrete, structural steel, foundations, and related civil scopes.
• Enforce ODOT safety standards, project‑specific safety plans, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure strict adherence to ODOT specifications, plans, special provisions, and inspection requirements.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, including two‑week lookahead planning aligned with DOT milestones.
• Coordinate DOT inspections, testing, and documentation requirements.
• Manage and coordinate labor crews, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries.
• Lead daily field operations and conduct weekly foreman meetings focused on production, safety, and quality.
• Maintain effective working relationships with ODOT inspectors, engineers, owners, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience on DOT bridge projects.
• Strong working knowledge of ODOT bridge specifications, drawings, and construction procedures.
• Proven experience managing public works bridge projects in Ohio.
• Ability to coordinate inspection hold points, testing, and documentation.
• Civil Engineering or construction‑related degree, but not required.
