I’m currently partnering with a leading European consumer group operating in the experiences and leisure space (multi-country presence, large partner ecosystem, strong brand recognition) to hire a Head of Marketing Strategy at HQ level.

This is a pivotal, newly strengthened role at the centre of the organisation’s next growth chapter.

The Opportunity

Consumer behaviour has evolved significantly in recent years — particularly in how people spend on experiences versus physical goods. This business sees a clear opportunity to modernise and expand its category, and is looking for a strategic leader to help shape that evolution.

You will work closely with the CMO and senior leadership team to define where to play, how to win, and how to unlock the next wave of growth across multiple European markets.

This is not a pure brand or comms strategy role. It is commercially grounded, data-driven, and highly visible.

What You’ll Be Doing

Category & Growth Strategy

  • Identify and quantify priority growth opportunities across markets
  • Build robust views on market size, customer segments, and structural trends
  • Develop clear recommendations on where to focus investment and effort
  • Align international teams around shared strategic priorities

Customer & Proposition Strategy

  • Define target audiences and high-value customer profiles
  • Shape value propositions and positioning across retail and digital channels
  • Inform product and offer direction based on insight and economics
  • Partner with commercial teams on pricing and monetisation logic

Strategic Influence & Execution

  • Translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership
  • Challenge assumptions using data and customer insight
  • Support annual planning and prioritisation decisions
  • Ensure learnings from pilots and initiatives are captured and scaled

You’ll operate as a senior individual contributor with meaningful executive exposure and influence.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 8–10 years’ total experience
  • A strong foundation in top-tier strategy consulting (minimum 3 years)
  • Proven experience in market sizing, growth strategy and customer-led transformation
  • Exposure to consumer-facing businesses — ideally retail, ecommerce, marketplaces, travel or hospitality
  • Strong analytical capability paired with clear, persuasive communication

This role would suit:

  • A current Manager / EM / Principal in consulting looking for greater ownership
  • Or an ex-consultant now in industry wanting broader strategic scope and ELT exposure
