Head of Safety Partnering
Location: Paris, France – Global Patient Safety
We are looking for an experienced leader to define and lead our global pharmacovigilance partnering strategy across a diverse commercial portfolio. This pivotal leadership role ensures that strong partnerships translate into safe, compliant and impactful outcomes for patients worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Define, lead and deploy Ipsen’s global Pharmacovigilance partnering strategy for commercial partners.
- Build collaboration internally and externally to ensure appropriate Pharmacovigilance Agreements (PVAs) are in place and fully compliant with all relevant legislation and processes.
- Drive oversight of commercial partners as part of the PV partnering governance structure.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and internal alignment of the PV partnering strategy.
- Oversee global partnership management, including due diligence for acquisition/divestment and PVA/SDEA set‑up.
- Lead PVA implementation, advocate a shared understanding of PV roles and responsibilities, and provide ongoing education of stakeholders.
- Conduct PV discussions, negotiations and clear communication with partners.
- Lead termination negotiations with partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Ipsen processes and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee PV regulatory intelligence related to partnerships, develop a global safety partnership regulatory intelligence strategy and proactively update PVA templates.
- Lead and develop the Safety Partnering team, ensuring resourcing, capability building, performance management and a collaborative culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field, or in business administration.
- Extensive team management and change management experience.
- Strong leadership and experience negotiating effectively to deliver shared goals.
- Significant experience in pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven expertise in PV agreements and global partnering environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation capabilities.
- Solid understanding of global PV regulations and inspection readiness.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to drive change and alignment across functions.
- Robust working knowledge of pre‑ and post‑marketing PV legislation.
- Robust experience with regulatory authority inspections and internal audits, either in industry, consulting or health authority.
- Fluency in English.
