This department is part of the Global Engineering, and he is supporting CapEx portfolio and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive consistency, simplification and digitization of Project Execution Standards (T1, T2 & T3), Methodologies, Practices and Procedures across all M&S Sites to improve project performance in terms of speed and cost at completion.
- Lead the implementation of advanced digital tools, AI/ML analytics, and automated workflows across the entire project lifecycle. Drive adoption of digital twins, predictive analytics, and real-time project intelligence platforms to achieve 30-50% acceleration in project delivery timelines.
- Architect and implement new operating models that fundamentally change how cross-functional teams collaborate, make decisions, and execute capital projects. Establish new governance frameworks that enable faster decision-making and eliminate traditional bottlenecks.
- Lead benchmark and execution peer reviews of all Tier 1 Capital projects and select Tier 2 projects and consolidate all project benchmark data for continuous improvement.
- Drive next‑generation project intelligence through advanced SHINE capabilities, implementing real-time dashboards, predictive analytics, and automated reporting to enable proactive portfolio management and risk mitigation.
- Carry out oversight, analysis and monthly monitoring of the entire M&S CapEx Portfolio (€1.5+Bn annual spend).
- Primary point of contact for Sanofi Internal Controls on all CapEx and project management matters and carry out regular project audits on Tier 1 projects and provide corrective actions as required.
- Owner of project management, project controls and construction safety standards and coordinate the community of practice (roughly 250 FTE).
- Lead front‑end studies for Tier 1 projects which will define project execution up to €1+B in project scale.
- Establish Centers of Excellence for digital project management tools and methodologies, creating scalable frameworks for rapid deployment across global sites.
- Champion the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies including IoT sensors, digital twins, and predictive maintenance systems during project design & execution phases.
- Key account manager and represent Sanofi in front of External Engineering and Project Controls partners.
Education
Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent degree.
Experience
- 10+ years of expertise in senior engineering, medium/large project management and managing positions (site, country, or regional responsibility).
- Strong project management background required.
- Pharmaceutical & Bio‑Tech facility start‑up and/or manufacturing position experience.
- Corporate function: a plus with at least five years experience at global or cross‑functional level with a high‑level management position.
- Engineering, design of bio/pharma process unit operations and facilities operations.
- Proven track record in digital transformation initiatives within complex industrial environments.
- Experience with advanced project management platforms (e.g., Oracle Primavera Cloud, Microsoft Project Online, or similar enterprise solutions).
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in project management and predictive analytics.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and their application in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
