The Head of Operations

The Head of Operations leads a broad and strategic scope including Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, General Services & EHS, Health and Safety, PLCM Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Sartorius Operations School, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations aligned with site and network priorities. At our Aubagne site, a large-scale manufacturing environment of approximately 1,200 employees, this role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and shape high-performance, future-ready operations within a complex and dynamic setting.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities

• You oversee the availability and efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment to deliver production plans and minimize downtime across multiple production areas, technologies, and shifts
• You monitor site performance metrics, elevate risks, and lead cross-functional corrective actions to meet production targets while ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency in line with defined KPIs
• You ensure compliance with EHS, GMP (if applicable), and regulatory standards across complex operations, maintaining audit readiness and driving timely resolution of findings
• You lead the integration of new technologies and process improvements, aligning initiatives with network strategy and ensuring effective change management across teams
• You foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement, maintaining strong engagement on the shop floor and across organizational layers

What will convince us

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Industrial Technology, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered a plus
• You bring extensive experience in regulated manufacturing operations, preferably in biopharma or biotech, including leadership of large teams and complex multi-line operations
• You demonstrate strong expertise in GMP (if applicable), EHS, cost control, and production planning within high-complexity environments
• You show proven ability to lead through multiple organizational layers, manage large cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of accountability and performance
• You apply strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to manage complex variance analysis, root cause investigations, and cross-functional resolution
• You leverage data effectively for decision-making and performance tracking
• You communicate fluently in English; proficiency in the local site language is required
