Head of IT & DevOps

Job background

We are looking for a passionate, proactive and experienced IT & DevOps Team Lead to drive our infrastructure and operations strategy and day-to-day activities. Lead a small team while remaining hands‑on, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT systems and DevOps pipelines. Collaborate with key stakeholders to align technology strategies with business objectives, optimize workflows, and enhance system reliability.

Job details

• Define and execute IT and DevOps strategy aligned with business goals
• Oversee cloud and on‑premise infrastructure (design, deployment, maintenance)
• Ensure system scalability, availability, and performance
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
• Manage IT operations including support, system administration, and enterprise tools
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes
• Ensure security policies and compliance with industry standards
• Manage infrastructure budget, vendors, and service providers
• Collaborate closely with development and product teams to optimize workflows
• Lead, mentor, and support a team including a subcontractor and an apprentice
• Drive continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and reliability

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

Education

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in IT, infrastructure, or DevOps roles
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership or team management position

Technical Skills

• Infrastructure / Cloud
• Strong experience with Linux and Windows environments
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, or similar)
• Virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, ESXi)
• Backup solutions (Veeam, Duplicity or equivalent)
• Kubernetes and Docker
• CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
• Scripting (Python, Bash)
• Networking fundamentals (firewalls, VPN, load balancing)
• Security best practices and compliance frameworks

• Strong experience with Linux and Windows environments
