Responsibilities

Regulatory strategy and compliance

• Define Alan’s stance on key regulatory requirements, turning complex constraints into business advantages.
• Own Alan’s insurance compliance posture: translate regulatory obligations into operational tools, lead responses to inspections, report compliance risks to the board and committees.
• Develop strategies to influence regulatory evolutions while maintaining productive relationships with regulators and public affairs teammates.

Business and commercial impact

• Act as Alan’s legal voice in strategic business conversations: engage with prospects and clients, own legal responses to major RFPs, lead complex negotiations.
• Define offer strategies for large accounts, leveraging regulatory expertise to unlock deals.

Product excellence and member protection

• Identify regulatory-compliant product designs that improve member experience.
• Protect Alan’s competitive positioning on key regulatory topics.

International scope and legal autonomy

• Oversee insurance compliance across Alan’s markets, building foundational frameworks and distributed ownership structures.
• Lead legal and regulatory dimensions of new international expansion, including regulatory licensing and compliance plan design.
• Build internal legal frameworks, templates, and guidelines to reduce reliance on external counsel; implement an automation roadmap.

Qualifications

Experience

• At least 10 years of insurance law or social protection law at a top insurance law firm or international insurance company.
• Fluency in French and professional English (written and spoken).
• Commercial experience negotiating or litigating complex health and disability insurance deals.
• Broad familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks such as ACPR guidelines, distribution rules, and relevant health and disability regulations.
• Bonus: experience on international markets, drafting in English, or at a regulatory authority.
