Head of Group Asset Cars
Mains objectives:
The Head of Group Asset Cars is responsible for the strategic direction, operational efficiency, and data-driven optimization of the entire vehicle repair and maintenance function across EmG Corporate markets, alongside leveraging data for fleet intelligence and predictive maintenance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :Strategic Vision & Leadership for Repair & Maintenance:
Develop and implement a cohesive group-wide strategy for vehicle/equipment repair, preventative maintenance (PM), and predictive maintenance programs.
Establish group-wide standards, policies, and procedures for all maintenance activities, ensuring consistency and best practices across all markets.
Lead the transition from reactive to proactive and predictive maintenance models using data and technology.
Set group-level KPIs fleet operating costs and non-operating fleet (NOF) performance.
Oversee the entire lifecycle of fleet assets from a maintenance perspective, influencing acquisition and disposal decisions based on performance and cost data.
Fleet Intelligence & Data Analytics:
Champion the adoption and utilization of fleet telematics, GPS tracking, vehicle diagnostics, and other data collection technologies.
Build and lead a "fleet intelligence" capability, leveraging data analysts and advanced analytics to derive actionable insights from fleet performance data.
Develop predictive models to forecast equipment failures, optimize maintenance schedules, and identify opportunities for fuel efficiency and reduced wear and tear.
Implement reporting dashboards and visualization tools to provide real-time insights into fleet health, performance, and maintenance costs to senior management.
Operational Management & Optimization:
Oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of all repair and maintenance workshops, whether in-house or third-party.
Optimize spare parts inventory management across the group to minimize stockouts and reduce carrying costs.
Drive lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance operations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal policies across the fleet.
Financial Management & Cost Control:
Develop, manage, and control the group's repair and maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or reliability.
Analyze and report on maintenance costs per vehicle/asset, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Optimize warranty recovery processes and maximize asset residual values through effective maintenance.
Contribute to capital expenditure planning for fleet replacement based on total cost of ownership (TCO) and performance data.
Team Leadership & Development:
Leading, mentoring, and developing a community of fleet managers, maintenance managers, technicians, and data analysts across different countries.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous learning within the fleet and maintenance teams.
Establish robust training programs for maintenance personnel on new technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Supporting countries budgets, resources, and central function relationships related to Fleet repair and maintenance.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Fleet, Finance, IT, and Procurement teams to ensure fleet availability meets operational demands and financial targets.
Communicate fleet performance, maintenance strategies, and key intelligence findings to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS :Operations, IT, Security, Product, Digital, Country Operations, Procurement, Finance
External: Network infrastructure vendors, telecom providers, cloud service partners, external consultants
Required Profile :
Previous experience : At least 10 years in fleet management or automotive maintenance, with multi-country responsibilities. Proven track record in leading maintenance strategy, data-driven decision-making, and managing cross-functional teams
Education level : Engineering degree (mechanical, automotive, maintenance) or equivalent. Master's degree preferred
Languages : Fluent in English (mandatory); French is a strong asset.
Computer skills and software used : Advanced proficiency in fleet telematics systems, predictive maintenance tools, GPS diagnostics, PowerBI or equivalent analytics platforms, Excel
