Established in 2024, the ESSEC Geopolitics & Business Institute examines how power rivalries and geopolitical shifts are reshaping markets, value chains, and corporate strategies.
Operating at the intersection of academic research, executive education, and dialogue with the business community, the Institute develops analyses, decision‑support tools, and forums for reflection to help companies navigate a constantly evolving international landscape.
As part of its growth, the Institute is recruiting a Head of Geopolitical Analysis. This role reports to the Executive Director and involves close collaboration with the Institute’s academic directors and affiliated faculty‑researchers.
Responsibilities
- Designing and managing the production of strategic analyses for the Institute’s patrons, partners, and clients.
- Participating in the design of the Institute’s expertise offerings and contributing to defining its editorial direction. Draft strategic analyses, foresight reports, executive briefings, op‑eds, and influential publications.
- Contribute to the development of the Institute’s strategic projects, notably the Economic Security Observatory.
- Enhance the Institute’s profile by hosting or contributing to events aimed at companies and partners.
- Participate in the Institute’s business development and the monitoring of its economic objectives.
- Supervise teams and external service providers engaged in expert activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial production methods and processes.
Candidate Profile
You have at least 8 years of experience gained in a strategy consulting firm, think tank, research organization, or within a corporate strategy or public affairs department.
Qualifications
- Recognized expertise in geopolitics, international relations, and geoeconomic issues.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills in both French and English.
- A strategic vision combined with strong execution capabilities.
- Experience in managing teams or cross‑functional projects.
- Proficiency in generative AI tools (LLMs and AI agents).
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to interact with corporate executives and high‑level partners.
Autonomy, rigor, initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative mindset will be essential qualities for success in this role.
