Role Summary
We’re looking for a Head of GenAI Platform to define and scale the infrastructure powering every AI capability at Photoroom. You will set the strategic direction for our generative AI platform, from model orchestration and inference infrastructure to foundation model training, enabling teams to ship breakthrough AI products faster than anyone else.
Responsibilities
- Define the long‑term vision and technical strategy for the GenAI Platform.
- Build and maintain infrastructure that powers image generation, video generation, model serving, orchestration, evaluation, and agentic workflows.
- Partner with Research to bring new models into production rapidly.
- Drive platform reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across billions of inference requests.
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and Researchers.
- Create an environment where ambitious technical ideas move from research to production in days rather than months.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership to ensure platform investments accelerate product innovation.
Qualifications
- Significant experience leading Machine Learning or AI organizations within product‑focused companies.
- Experience building and operating large‑scale AI platforms, including model serving, orchestration, inference infrastructure, or agent frameworks.
- Strong technical expertise across Generative AI, Computer Vision, or Foundation Models.
- Experience growing high‑performing engineering and research teams through hiring, coaching, and organisational design.
- A track record of translating ambitious research into production systems used by millions of users.
- Strong product instincts and the ability to balance long‑term technical investments against immediate customer impact.
- Excellent communication skills and experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders.

- Established a clear long‑term strategy for Photoroom’s AI platform.
- Built infrastructure that significantly reduces the time required to ship new AI capabilities.
- Enabled research teams to move new models into production rapidly and reliably.
- Improved platform performance, reliability, and infrastructure efficiency at scale.
- Built and retained a world‑class team of ML Engineers, Researchers, and Platform Engineers.
- Created evaluation frameworks that measure model quality, cost, and latency consistently across the platform.
- Helped define the technical direction that underpins the next generation of AI‑powered products at Photoroom.
