Job Description

Airbus Commercial is looking for its Head Of Export Control & Sanctions Regulatory (f/m) to join our Export Control Programme Office based in Toulouse, France. This role supports Airbus's commitment to conducting business with integrity and compliance with all local and international laws, ensuring consistent implementation of sanctions and export control regulations across Airbus.

Location

Toulouse, France – a global capital of aeronautics and European center for space research.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 7 Compliance Expert Managers across Europe.
  • Design, update and deploy Export Control policies related to Sanctions and Classification, including directives, methods, and guidelines to address regulatory changes.
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and foster a consistent, group‑wide approach to sanctions and classification.
  • Provide group‑wide training on Sanctions and Classification for exposed populations.
  • Manage the Legal Expert Group on Sanctions to raise awareness within Airbus Legal & Compliance.
  • Reinforce and expand the existing compliance network across Airbus Commercial, Defence & Space, and Helicopters, sharing sanctions regulatory watch with subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Advise the business on sanctions, embargoes, and diversions, managing key stakeholder relationships.
  • Co‑lead projects to review processes and tools applicable to the aircraft lifecycle.
  • Lead Airbus external engagement and representation for sanctions compliance toward industry and government.
  • Provide strategic requirements and governance for the development and operation of automated digital tools using AI and data structures to optimize screening and classification.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in Export Control and/or Sanctions Compliance, with expertise in EU and US export control regulations (ideally in aerospace).
  • Management experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, sound business judgment, and ability to involve others in consultations.
  • Excellent writing skills in English are required.
  • Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and communication capabilities.
  • High degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality, and trust.
  • Ability to support the business under daily pressure on file processing.
  • Fluency in both English and French.
