Job Description\nT he Head of Engineering is accountable for the reliability, performance, and conformity of mechanical components used in heavy industrial equipment operating in demanding environments. The position oversees external manufacturing partners, ensures technical validation of suppliers, controls production methods, and defines the long-term development strategy for component portfolios.
\nThe role also leads the resolution of quality issues through to completion, validates critical technical choices, and plays a direct role in strengthening the robustness and competitiveness of the overall product offering.
Core Responsibilities1. Component Development and Validation\nCoordinate component development with manufacturing partners, from definition through testing and approval.
\nEstablish technical requirements including tolerances, material treatments, inspection methods, and manufacturing constraints.
\nOversee measurement campaigns and engineering analyses to ensure accurate component definition.
\nConfirm readiness of new designs prior to series production.
2. Supplier Assessment and Performance Management\nIdentify, evaluate, and approve manufacturing partners across multiple regions.
\nReview technical know-how, process stability, and production repeatability.
\nMonitor quality indicators and deploy structured improvement actions.
\nConduct technical visits and audits, formalize agreements, and coordinate third-party quality support when required.
3. Quality Deviation Management\nLead investigations into internal, supplier, and field-related quality issues.
\nDefine containment and corrective actions and ensure timely resolution.
\nDevelop and maintain quality dashboards and performance indicators.
4. Technical Authority and Decision Ownership\nSupport engineering teams in the assessment of components under review.
\nDecide on acceptance, conditional approval, or rejection of parts.
\nSpecify necessary design or process changes before approval or release.
\nVerify mechanical, functional, and dimensional integration of components within equipment assemblies.
\nTake final responsibility for decisions related to rework, rejection, or redesign.
5. Technical Planning and Cross-Functional Alignment\nDefine annual development priorities in coordination with executive leadership and commercial teams.
\nAllocate resources across product lines, projects, and new introductions.
\nStructure and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, validation records, and quality history.
6. Leadership of Technical Teams\nManage the reverse engineering function (CAD models, drawings, tolerances).
\nManage the inspection and validation function (dimensional checks, material verification, approvals).
\nPromote structured methods, technical rigor, and continuous skills development.
RequirementsProfile Requirements\nDegree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or equivalent experience (minimum 7–10 years).
\nStrong background in industrial manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, machining, thermal treatments, and component life-cycle management.
\nSolid experience in quality analysis and failure investigation within mechanical systems.
\nProven ability to work with international suppliers and develop new industrial partnerships.
\nRecognized technical authority with strong leadership, autonomy, and execution focus.
\nProfessional working proficiency in English.
