Head of Digital Business Strategy H/F
We are seeking a senior technology leader with a strong academic foundation in IT or Computer Engineering to drive the global eCommerce technology and platform strategy for a major international business investing heavily in next-generation digital platforms across web, mobile, and commerce.

Role Overview
Own the architecture, engineering, and performance of all digital customer-facing technology — including eCommerce portals, payment systems, self-service platforms, mobile apps, API ecosystems, and engagement tools. You will lead a 100+ strong technical organization across backend development, DevOps, QA, data, and platform ownership, ensuring world-class reliability, scalability, and innovation. This is a mission-critical role at the intersection of technology, commerce, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the global technology roadmap for digital commerce platforms, including eCommerce portals, mobile apps, payments, APIs, and customer self-service tools
- Drive cloud-native engineering, microservices, and serverless computing to enable real-time, scalable infrastructure
- Build, scale, and mentor a global team of engineers, architects, DevOps, QA, and platform specialists.
- Ensure full integration with customer engagement and analytics systems, including email, SEO, personalization, and journey tracking
- Work cross-functionally with Strategic Marketing, Product, Data, and Business Units to align platform development with commercial objectives
- Lead operational excellence through modern DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and performance optimization
- Own the secure, compliant, and resilient delivery of all commerce-related digital systems globally
Requirements
- Education: Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical discipline is mandatory
- 10+ years in digital technology leadership, including at least 3 years owning global-scale customer-facing platforms
- Deep expertise in backend development, API architecture, payments, cloud infrastructure, and web performance engineering
- Strong understanding of the digital commerce stack — from web and mobile delivery to data and marketing tech integrations
- Demonstrated experience managing and scaling large, cross-functional technical teams in complex, matrixed environments
- Strategic thinker with hands‑on capability, able to operate from architecture decisions to organizational design
