Head of Communication & Marketing
Why This Role is Unlike Any Other
Forget everything you know about corporate comms.
You’re not joining a SaaS company. You’re not selling sneakers. You’re telling the story of a company that connects satellites to Earth — one that works with space agencies, defense institutions, and some of the most visionary engineers on the planet.
Skynopy builds the next generation of ground station infrastructure for Low-Earth Orbit satellites. In less than two years, we’ve raised €15M, deployed 30+ ground stations (growing to 100+), partnered with AWS, Airbus and Eutelsat, and built a team of 20 brilliant minds from the heart of Paris.
Our office? Rue du Louvre, downtown Paris — right at the crossroads of French tech, politics, and culture.
Now we need someone to make sure the world knows it.
This isn’t a support function. This is the role that shapes how the world sees Skynopy — from the front pages of space industry media to the LinkedIn feeds of every decision-maker in European tech.
The Position
We’re looking for a Head of Communication & Marketing who is, quite simply, the most creative, resourceful, and original communication mind we can find.
Someone who can make a B2B space infrastructure company feel as aspirational as the best consumer brands. Think the storytelling audacity of Green-Got, or the brand consistency of Respire, but applied to space and satellites.
This is a central, strategic role reporting directly to the CEO. You will be the voice, the image, and the cultural engine of Skynopy.
Your Responsibilities
Brand & Storytelling
- Own Skynopy’s brand identity from the ground up — visual, editorial, tonal
- Create a communication strategy that breaks every convention of how space companies talk about themselves by bridging the gap between deep tech and daily life, and show how satellites powers a lot in the modern world - from your Uber ride to global climate monitoring.
- Turn complex deep tech into magnetic narratives that resonate with investors, customers, institutions, and talent
- Develop thought leadership content for the founding team and key executives
- Plan a communication every week: events in our Paris office, announcements, social media campaign
Social Media & Digital Influence
- Master LinkedIn and X algorithms — not just understand them, but reverse-engineer them for maximum reach and engagement
- Build Skynopy’s social presence into a must-follow for the European space and tech ecosystem
- Create content formats that stop the scroll: behind-the-scenes satellite passes, launch day threads, data-driven space insights, founder stories
- Grow our audience from hundreds to tens of thousands through organic, high-quality, algorithm-aware content
- Build and engage a community of followers who become ambassadors
Events & VIP Relations
- Organize high-profile events every two weeks at our central Paris location — making Skynopy the place to be for the space and tech ecosystem in Paris
- Curate exclusive VIP events that attract CEOs of major tech companies, politicians, institutional leaders, and the Paris Mayor’s office
- Reinvent our presence at industry conferences (IAC, Paris Air Show, SATELLITE, etc.) — no more boring booths with brochures. Think immersive, thought-provoking, impossible to ignore
- Build and nurture a network of high-influence contacts across space, defense, politics, and media
AI & Automation
- Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, ElevenLabs, etc.) to produce content at startup speed with studio-level quality
- Build automated workflows (n8n, Make, Zapier) for content scheduling, analytics tracking, reporting, and CRM-linked campaigns
- Stay ahead of every new AI tool that can give Skynopy a competitive edge in communication
Hands-On Execution
- This role is about doing , not delegating. You will write the posts, design the visuals, edit the videos, and send the invitations — especially in the early days
- Manage relationships with freelancers and agencies when needed, but always be able to take over and execute yourself
- Own the full communication calendar and be the single point of accountability for all external-facing content
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + stock options (BSPCE)
- A front-row seat to the European space revolution
- An office in the heart of Paris (Rue du Louvre) — the kind of location that makes events easy and life enjoyable
- A young, international, ambitious team
- Flexible working hours and hybrid setup
- The chance to build something from scratch — no legacy systems, no bureaucracy, just impact
- Afterworks, and team lunches
Must-Haves
- 5–10 years of experience in communication, marketing, or brand strategy — ideally in a startup or scale-up environment
- A portfolio that makes us say “wow” — show us campaigns, social posts, events, or brand builds that were genuinely original and had real impact
- Deep, proven expertise in LinkedIn and X algorithms — you understand how to grow reach organically and have the numbers to prove it
- Experience organizing high-profile events and managing VIP relationships (corporate, political, institutional)
- Fluent command of AI tools for content creation — you don’t just use them, you push their limits
- Strong visual eye — you can art-direct a brand even if you’re not a graphic designer
- Excellent writing in French and English — you can write a killer LinkedIn post in both languages
- Autonomous, structured, fast — you don’t need someone to tell you what to do next
- Based in or willing to relocate to Paris
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in or genuine passion for space, defense, deep tech, or aerospace
- Knowledge of the European space ecosystem (ESA, CNES, DLR, etc.)
- Experience with PR and media relations in the tech industry
- Understanding of B2B/B2G sales cycles and how communication supports business development
- Video production or podcast experience
