Role Overview
The Head of Cash Management will design and oversee cash management operations across all Malt platforms and systems. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will manage the company’s liquidity, optimise cash flows, and support growth and strategic initiatives. The role requires a strong background in treasury operations, risk management, and financial strategy, combined with leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all cash operations, including payment transactions on our PSP(s).
- Manage cash operations with factors and financial partners.
- Improve day‑to‑day banking operations (vendor payments, bank monitoring, etc.).
- Optimize cash flows by improving cash cycles through accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic needs.
- Manage the Cash Operations team (6+ persons), including two transversal roles (Cash Controller and Project Manager) and four operational roles (Treasurer, Payment Operations Manager, Financing Team, Credit & Risk Manager).
- Maintain regulatory compliance and manage risk associated with all cash operations; enforce internal controls and policies to prevent unauthorized transactions or fraud.
- Collaborate with IT, product, and other finance teams to ensure seamless payment operations.
- Create and maintain process documentation for payment procedures.
- Drive innovation and strengthen the technical stack through deeper integrations and better automations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Build and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to negotiate favorable terms for credit facilities, payment processing, and other financial services.
- Optimise group banking structures, including account set‑ups, bank fees, and treasury services.
- Ensure availability of financing options, such as revolving credit lines or short‑term funding, to support growth and emergency liquidity needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in treasury or cash management.
- Strong management, leadership, collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills to align treasury goals with business priorities and guide cross‑regional teams.
- Technical proficiency with payment processing systems, financial software, and relevant technologies (e.g., ERP systems).
- Understanding of payment methods, gateways, and high‑volume transaction processing.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS and AML.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen to align cash management strategies with long‑term growth goals.
- Proficiency in digital solutions, automation, and data visualization tools for reporting.
- Ability to assess and implement new technologies to improve cash visibility and operational efficiency.
- Adaptability and proactivity to navigate changing regulations, technologies, and market conditions in the payment sector.
