Head of AML

Join us as Head of AML to lead Qonto’s AML Operations across 8 markets, shaping how we deliver high-performing, scalable operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer experience.

Reporting to Alexis (Director of AML & Banking Operations), you’ll own AML operational performance end-to-end—translating evolving AFC priorities into execution, driving continuous improvement, and building the foundations that will enable the team to grow and succeed in the years ahead.

What you’ll do

• Drive AML operational excellence across 8 markets (alert treatment speed, quality, and zero backlog).
• Lead and develop 4 Team Leads, ensuring clarity, coordination, and strong team health.
• Translate new compliance rules into executable processes with no regulatory gaps or delays.
• Own escalations and complex cases, making calm decisions under pressure.
• Represent AML Operations with senior leadership and external stakeholders when needed.

What we’re looking for

• Strong AML/compliance expertise (AFC rules, regulatory frameworks, alert management) and the ability to operationalise it at scale.
• Proven manager-of-managers experience (at least 4 or 5 direct reports) in a high-volume operational environment.
• High ownership and proactivity: you identify problems early and drive solutions without hand-holding.
• Structured execution: you bring clarity, prioritisation, and repeatable operating systems to fast-moving teams.
• Confident stakeholder management.

Your future manager

You’ll report to Alexis (currently leading AML), who brings nearly a decade of financial crime expertise built across some of Europe's most demanding environments, from Inspection Générale at BNP Paribas to VP-level in New York. He joined Qonto in April 2025 to build a high‑performing AML function from the ground up, drawn by the pace and ambition of what's possible at a fintech. He leads with high standards, clear expectations, and a genuine focus on building something that lasts.
