Head of AI Engineering

My client, a French consulting firm specialising in operational and strategic management of industrial is recruiting its Head of AI Engineering & Platforms .

Your missions

• Make the Group an AI-first organisation : embed AI into 100% of internal processes (consulting / delivery, CRM, recruitment, sales, finance, HR, HSE, marketing) — rethink the way the firm works (automation, augmentation, friction removal)
• Build an AI culture across the Group : contribute to selecting consultants based on their AI potential, train managers and support functions, spread best practices, and turn every consultant into a sensor for AI use cases at their client
• Industrialise field intelligence into platforms : turn use cases collected on the ground into internal tools, modules and product platforms — drive the portfolio
• Build differentiated platforms : own the product roadmap together with the CTO, embed AI natively (LLMs / RAG / agents / fine-tuning), deliver solutions that are simple, powerful and adopted
• Drive technology delivery : structure and lead the Digital Solutions + AI teams, guarantee delivery that is fast, robust and profitable, validate technical estimates, set engineering excellence standards
• Be a key business actor : active contributor to the global Go-To-Market and platform GTM, support BU Directors and Managers in pre-sales / offer structuring / complex RFPs, intervene with strategic clients, bring a strong technology read of the market
• Be the external face of the Group on AI : carry the AI vision in front of clients / partners / ecosystem, conferences, events, thought leadership — position the brand as a credible Applied AI player in France and internationally
• Guarantee technological coherence : propose architecture choices, ensure stack coherence, scalability, security, performance, work in close alignment with the Group CTO

Expected technical stack (true AI expert)

• LLM & GenAI : fine-tuning (LoRA, PEFT), advanced RAG (vector DBs, embeddings, reranking), agents (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, OpenAI Swarm), structured prompt engineering, evaluation (RAGAS, eval frameworks)
• Data & vector stores : Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, pgvector, ChromaDB; Snowflake / Databricks / BigQuery
• AI security : guardrails, red teaming, PII detection, on-premise / airgap for sensitive use cases

The profile

• 4+ years of experience in AI, a TRUE AI ENGINEER who has trained, deployed and operated models in production
• Deep technical background : engineering, computer science or physics
• Proven team management — at least 3 years managing AI teams (Data Scientists / ML Engineers / AI Engineers), ability to hire, grow and federate
• Executive-Committee-ready posture : direct dialogue with CEO / COO / CFO / BU Directors, ability to explain technology to non-technical stakeholders and defend architecture choices in front of a board
• Product / platform track record : you have built, scaled, industrialised AI platforms in production with real users — not just POCs
• Builder + visionary posture — bring the breath of AI-first companies (Silicon Valley, scale-ups) and translate it for an industrial consulting firm
