GETTING A FLYING START

As the Head of AI Centre of Excellence, you will establish and lead Nexans' enterprise AI CoE, creating the governance, standards and engineering practices that enable AI to be deployed securely, responsibly and at scale. Working closely with business leaders, data teams and technology specialists, you'll help transform ambitious AI ideas into production-ready solutions that deliver measurable business value across our global operations.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

• Establish and lead Nexans' AI Centre of Excellence, defining the enterprise AI operating model, governance framework and best practices.
• Drive the adoption of scalable AI engineering, MLOps and Generative AI capabilities across Digital, Data & AI and the wider business.
• Define enterprise standards for AI architecture, Responsible AI, security, compliance and model lifecycle management.
• Partner with business leaders to identify high-value AI opportunities and translate them into scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Coach and influence multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of AI innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Shape Nexans' long-term AI strategy by evaluating emerging technologies and ensuring AI investments deliver measurable business outcomes.

YOUR STARTING POINTS

Significant experience leading enterprise Artificial Intelligence, Applied AI or AI Engineering initiatives within complex global organisations.

Proven success establishing or leading an AI Centre of Excellence, AI Platform, AI Engineering function or enterprise AI governance programme.

Deep expertise in Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Engineering, MLOps and production AI deployment.

Strong technical knowledge of Python, SQL, cloud AI platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and enterprise data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead cross-functional transformation programmes and translate complex technical concepts into business value.

Passion for innovation, strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance AI innovation with governance, security and Responsible AI principles.

Nice to Have

Experience within industrial manufacturing, energy, infrastructure or engineering organisations.

Experience with AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LangChain, MLflow, Kubernetes or modern AI platform technologies.

Knowledge of European AI regulation, Responsible AI frameworks and enterprise AI risk management.

Experience leading geographically distributed AI or Data Science teams.

Advanced degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
