H/F Technical Product Marketer
Gatling is a French tech company trusted by engineering teams worldwide to test the performance and scalability of their systems. With more than 30 million downloads, a strong open-source ecosystem, and enterprise customers across streaming, fintech, banking, retail, and transport, we’ve built a reputation for technical excellence.
Now, we’re evolving.
Load testing used to be about generating traffic and reading graphs. But modern systems are too complex, too distributed, and too critical for that to be enough. Performance is no longer just a technical concern. It’s revenue, reputation, and risk.
We’re moving toward Continuous Performance Intelligence: transforming load testing from a technical activity into an organizational capability. From data to decisions. From execution to trust. We need someone who can articulate that transformation clearly and credibly.
Things you’ll do
You’ll sit at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Sales, and Developer Relations, ensuring innovation turns into impact.
You’ll lead product positioning and messaging across both:
- The Enterprise platform (governance, visibility, AI, performance scoring, decision enablement)
- The open-source framework (SDK capabilities, developer workflows, ecosystem evolution)
You’ll own Product release marketing from A to Z:
- Deeply understand new features and roadmap intent
- Define their narrative and target personas
- Clarify who they’re for and why they matter
- Equip Sales with strong enablement and differentiation
- Align website, key pages, and core assets
- Structure launch communication and announcements
You’ll be a key driver of our video and webinar strategy, especially content aimed at Tech Leaders and Decision Buyers. Webinars are a major inbound engine for Gatling: we expect you to elevate them strategically, not just operate them.
You’ll collaborate closely with:
- Product & Engineering, ensuring positioning reflects real technical depth
- DevRel, aligning end-user education with enterprise value
- Growth & Sales, ensuring messaging supports real buying conversations
- Content, shaping datasheets, deep dives, and high-value assets
You’ll help ensure our documentation communicates not only how features work, but why they matter. Documentation is a core touchpoint for us, especially in open source.
You’ll use product analytics (Amplitude), OSS usage signals, and developer intent data (e.g., documentation activity, Reo.dev insights) to refine positioning, identify friction, and inform GTM priorities.
You’ll contribute to competitive positioning, equipping Sales with clear messaging against both open-source alternatives and legacy enterprise platforms.
Above all, you’ll constantly translate technical depth into business clarity.
Things you won’t do
- You won’t be responsible for producing high-volume blog content.
- You won’t simply rewrite Jira tickets into feature announcements.
- You won’t operate in isolation from Product or Sales.
This role is strategic, cross-functional, and narrative-driven: not execution-only, and not traffic-focused.
What we want from this role
We want someone who can help Gatling move from: “A powerful load testing framework” to “A Continuous Performance Intelligence platform enabling leadership-level decisions.”
Concretely, that means:
- Elevating our messaging toward Tech Leaders and Enterprise buyers
- Making AI, governance, and performance scoring understandable and credible
- Bringing coherence between open-source credibility and enterprise value
- Strengthening Sales conversations with clear differentiation
- Using real product and developer signals to inform positioning
- Helping shape category-level thinking, not just product-level messaging
We expect ownership, opinion, and intellectual curiosity. We don’t expect you to know everything about performance testing on day one, but we do expect you to want to understand it deeply.
This role is for you if…
You genuinely enjoy understanding technical products. You’re curious enough to read documentation, explore features, and ask “why was this built this way?”
You’re comfortable working directly with developers and engineers, discussing SDK evolution, APIs, architecture, and performance methodology.
You like moving between audiences: one day refining messaging for CTOs, the next day aligning with DevRel on how to explain a new SDK capability.
You’re comfortable thinking at two levels:
- Strategic narrative (category, positioning, differentiation)
- Tactical execution (enablement, launches, scripts, content structure)
You have 4–6+ years of experience in Product Marketing or Technical Marketing in B2B SaaS, ideally in developer tools, DevOps, infrastructure, observability, or adjacent spaces.
You’re fluent in English, comfortable in an international environment, and excited about shaping how a technical product evolves in the market.
A note on scope
We’re a small company, and priorities evolve quickly based on market trends, product signals, and ecosystem feedback.
The core of this role is Product Marketing. That said, responsibilities may expand over time depending on where leverage is needed. This could include contributing to community initiatives, supporting ecosystem conversations, or shaping new GTM experiments.
We don’t expect this from day one. But we value adaptability, curiosity, and the willingness to step into new areas when it makes sense.
