The role

As Group Portfolio Manager, you will play a central role in shaping, structuring, and governing Sonepar’s global IT portfolio. Based at Group headquarters in Paris, you will work closely with country CIOs, CFOs, and corporate functions to ensure that IT investments are aligned with Group strategy, architectural standards, and business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Demand & Portfolio Management - Lead the consolidation and structuring of IT demand across all Sonepar countries and Group functions
  • Demand & Portfolio Management - Define and operate clear demand intake, qualification, and prioritization processes
  • Demand & Portfolio Management - Ensure alignment with Group strategy, transformation roadmap, and budget cycles
  • Demand & Portfolio Management - Provide end-to-end visibility on initiatives, investments, dependencies, risks, and expected value
  • Project Portfolio Governance - Manage the Group IT project portfolio across business and technology domains
  • Project Portfolio Governance - Support portfolio-level prioritization and arbitration with senior stakeholders
  • Project Portfolio Governance - Monitor execution, financials, benefits realization, and key risks
  • Project Portfolio Governance - Prepare high-quality portfolio reporting for Group IT leadership and executive committees
  • Application Portfolio Management - Maintain and continuously improve the Group application portfolio view (business, technical, financial)
  • Application Portfolio Management - Support application rationalization, standardization, and lifecycle management initiatives
  • Application Portfolio Management - Ensure consistency between applications, business capabilities, and target architecture
  • Architecture & Standards - Contribute to the definition and evolution of Group architecture principles and standards
  • Architecture & Standards - Ensure that demands and projects comply with target architecture and technology guidelines
  • Architecture & Standards - Act as a key interface between Enterprise Architecture and delivery teams
  • International Coordination - Work closely with country CIOs and IT teams in a highly international environment
  • International Coordination - Foster cross-country alignment, reuse of solutions, and best practices
  • International Coordination - Support the integration of newly acquired companies into Group governance and standards

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, PMO, enterprise applications, or enterprise architecture
  • Proven track record in large, international, and decentralized organizations
  • Strong exposure to demand management, project portfolio management, and application landscapes
  • Experience with ERP, supply chain, finance, or omnichannel environments is a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical and structuring capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex portfolios
  • Solid understanding of IT governance and enterprise architecture concepts
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence and drive alignment without direct authority
  • Structured, pragmatic, and results-oriented
  • Collaborative, service-minded, and comfortable in transformation contexts
  • Able to operate at both strategic and hands-on level
  • Fluent written and spoken English. French is a nice to have
  • Position based at Sonepar Group headquarters in Paris. Regular international travel is expected.

Work Mode & Location

- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) after the probation period
