Grid Connection Manager – EV Charging & Energy Infrastructure | Paris, France

Piper Maddox is working with a leading DC fast charging operator to appoint a Grid Connection Manager to support the continued expansion of its EV charging and energy infrastructure portfolio across France.

This is a key position responsible for leading all grid connection activities, covering both electricity import and export connections for EV charging infrastructure and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of grid connection applications, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while optimising timelines, costs, and associated risks.

Key Responsibilities

Grid Connection Management

• Lead and manage grid connection applications from initial submission through to final approval.
• Prepare, submit, and monitor connection requests, network agreements, and associated contracts.
• Coordinate all technical and administrative documentation required for connection applications.
• Manage capacity reservations, project deadlines, and compliance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement of internal grid connection processes and reporting.

Project Management

• Oversee grid connection projects from inception through to delivery of technical and financial connection offers.
• Analyse and validate technical connection proposals and commercial terms.
• Coordinate with network operators, engineering consultancies, and external service providers.
• Monitor key project milestones, risks, timelines, and budgets.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for all grid connection matters across the French business.
• Collaborate closely with Development, Infrastructure, Energy, and Construction teams.
• Manage relationships with network operators and external stakeholders throughout the connection process.

Commissioning & Operational Support

• Support the energisation and commissioning of EV charging infrastructure and BESS projects.
• Track connection progress through to final completion.
• Provide regular reporting on project status, timelines, risks, and performance.

Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of French electricity grid connection processes across LV and MV networks.
• Experience working with distribution network operators, particularly Enedis and regional DNOs.
• Knowledge of grid import/export connections, renewable energy projects, battery storage systems, or EV charging infrastructure.
• Ability to analyse technical documentation, network studies, and connection offers.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluent French and fluent English are essential.
