EIB , the European Union's bank, in the framework of its GRAD programme, is seeking to recruit for its Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C) – Group Financial Risk Department (GFIN), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Graduate – Financial Risk Reporting* .

This is a full‑time temporary position at grade GRAD. The term of the contract will be 2 years.

Purpose

As a Graduate in the Group Financial Risk Department (GFIN), you will support the development and continuous enhancement of GR&C‑RM risk metrics calculations and reporting, ensuring data quality across supported teams, in order to enable robust financial risk oversight and informed decision‑making.

Operating Network

Reporting to the GFIN Director and working under the supervision of the relevant Head of Unit or more senior colleagues, you will contribute to the work of three Divisions within GFIN: Treasury & Liquidity (T&L), Asset & Liability Management (ALM) and Risk Data & Processes (RDP). You are expected to rotate among the T&L, ALM and RDP Divisions, with a schedule to be further defined and agreed. During your assignments, you will report to the Head of the Liquidity Risk Unit (LRU), Market Risk and Pricing Control Unit (MRC), and Data and Reporting Governance Unit (DRG) respectively.

Accountabilities

Treasury and Liquidity Management

  • Contribute to the migration of daily liquidity risk reporting to a modern, interactive dashboarding solution such as Power BI, replacing the current Excel‑based setup.
  • Contribute to the implementation of several econometric models (e.g., Stress to Undisbursed Loans, Social and Governance Scoring) in a Python‑based hybrid platform instead of the current Excel‑based system.
  • Support and ensure operational continuity of tasks such as data checks and reconciliations, data queries, data extraction, and report and dashboard creation.

Asset and Liability Management

  • Support and ensure operational continuity of tasks such as data checks, daily monitoring and reporting of the bank’s FX and IR positions.
  • Assist in implementing the results of the 3 Lines of Defence audit and delivering topics of strategic relevance for the Asset & Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and/or Management Committee (MC), such as oversight of the Prepayment Option Spread, monitoring of the Liquidity Risk Premium/commitment fee sufficiency, Blue Curve oversight, and the bank’s all‑in pricing framework.
  • Support senior team members in performing projections, simulations, stress tests and analyses of the bank’s balance sheet.
  • Maintain the coherence and reliability of the databases used by the bank’s risk management tools.

Reporting and Data Governance

  • Support the Directorate’s compliance with the Group Data & Reporting Governance framework, IT Data Strategy and best banking practices (including BCBS 239) and contribute to the production, review and timely delivery of regular and ad‑hoc reports, including responding to stakeholder and auditor requests and non‑regression testing.
  • Perform data quality controls and reporting governance checks, and support issue resolution in collaboration with senior colleagues, data officers and the reporting champion.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes and data controls; participate in transversal initiatives and projects aimed at aligning data management and reporting practices across the group.
  • Assist in the timely update and maintenance of reporting documentation, procedures manuals and user guides and ensure operational continuity of tasks such as glossary updates, data quality checks, and report creation.

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum a Bachelor’s equivalent), preferably in IT, mathematics, statistics and/or finance.
  • A maximum of 2 years of professional experience after your most recent graduation (excluding short internships). An initial practical experience in line with the accountabilities of the role would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of relevant data and reporting regulations such as BCBS 239, DORA and GDPR would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in SAP Business Objects, PowerBI, SQL and Python coding would be an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good knowledge of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
